Starting
Position: This sets the cursor for where you will start
removing letters. The first character is 1, 0 is only an option for the Insert
portion. If you are attempting to delete text, you should always start
from position one. You could also select to Start from the end
of the filename if you wanted, if you choose that option, then your
starting position will start from the end of the file, instead of the begining.
Example filename: testing.pdf For example, Starting position 1 without the
Start from the end of the filename checked would start with the
letter T. If the Start from the end of the filename
was checked, then Starting position 1 would start with the letter G.
Delete /
Remove: Delete / Remove lets you remove part of your filename
starting from wherever you want, and allows you to remove how ever many
characters you want. Please read below for more details on how to accomplish
this. Example filename: test-0005.pdf If you wanted to remove the -0005 from the
filename, you would set the Start from position to '5', and you
want to delete -001 which is 4 characters in length, so set the
Delete / Remove to be 4. Click Preview to make
sure everything looks correct, then if you want to rename it, click
Apply. Insert: Insert allows you to insert text starting from any
location in the filename you want. For example, if you had test-0001.pdf, and you wanted
to insert two (2) more zeros after the index, you could insert 00
starting from the fifth position, and your new filename would be
test-000001.pdf.
